Correctly bet on the 1st-place winning poogle in Poogle Racing. This avatar is also sometimes received when betting on any other Poogle too.
Poogle Racing is a pretty self-explanatory game. Basically, there are Poogles, and they race. Thrilling, huh? However, you probably aren't here because you would love to learn about this sport. You just want to get yourself another avatar, right? To get the avatar, you simply need to place a bet on one of the Poogles, and have your Poogle win the race. Now we have the basics down, let's continue. First off, you need to place your bet. Races begin every 15 minutes in Neopian time (that is, :00, :15, :30, :45). However, you can only place your bet within ten minutes of the race's start (that would be :50, :05, :20, :35). Once you have placed your bet, you need to return later to see the race. Important note: If you do not return and watch the game, you will not get the avatar. As soon as the next round of betting begins, your bet is void; you will have to restart and place another bet. Another note: You have five minutes after the beginning of the race to return and watch. The races run from :00-:05, :15-:20, :30-:35, :45-50. When you first get to the Poogle Racing page, if there is currently a race running, you will be able to watch the race, but you will not be able to bet until the next betting session (again, that's :50-:00, :05-:15, :20-:30, and :35-:40). You will need to wait until one of these times, at which point you can begin the betting process. If it is already during a time that you can bet, there will be a page that tells you the current Neopian Time, and will say "The next race starts at X:00, X:15, X:30, or X:45 (approximately X minutes!). At this point, just click the button that says "Go to Betting Page" and get started! ![]() Are you following? Here's an example: If you go to the Poogle Racing page at :03, there will be a race running. No message tells you when the next race begins, but being the smart guide reader you are, you know the next round of betting will begin at :05. Okay, so you wait two minutes and refresh the page, and you are told when the next race begins, and given the option to bet. You go to the betting page, place your bet, and then you must wait until the race begins, in this example the race begins at :15. At :15, return to the main Poogle Racing page, and you are ready to watch your Poogle race to the death! (Okay, maybe not to the death...) Remember: If you do not make it back at exactly at :15 (or whatever time your race is beginning), you can still watch the race as long as five minutes have not passed and the next round of betting has not begun. So if you make it back at :19 for your :15, get excited to watch your Poogle race! But if you get back at :20... well, unfortunately you have to bet again and wait for the next race. Ick. Now what are you going to do when you get to the betting page? So many Poogles, but you can only pick one! Before you get started on your Poogle Racing adventures, click the link on the first Poogle Racing page that says "(click to view contestants)" to, uh.. view the contestants. This page tells you the "odds" of each Poogle winning. So why do some Poogles make so much more money? The lower the odds, the lower the amount of money the Poogle makes. In true racing form, you make less money on someone who is more likely to win. If someone who was never expected to win won, for example our chubby friend Poogle Five, his odds would mean you make much more money back. As the chances of winning go up, the amount of money goes down.. Get it? Most likely, you aren't interested in odds or bets or any of that junk- you just want the avatar. So taking into consideration the odds, I'm going to let you in on a little secret- you know that friendly, smiling red Scorchio on the betting page who tell you everything? He lies! Don't listen to him, or any of the information about the contestants! No one has yet to prove one way or another that any of the information is correct. You bet on Poogle One, and guess who ends up winning? Poogle Five, that chubby guy! The winner of each race is entirely random. My advice: What's your lucky number? Mine's 2. So guess who I bet on? Poogle Two! I have betted on many a Poogle race, and the outcome is always random. Every Poogle has won at least a few times. Okay, so have you picked your Poogle? Great, let's move along. There is one thing that they tell you that seems to often be true. You can feed your Poogle before the race, and it is supposed to make the Poogle faster. In my experience, I win more often with a fed Poogle. It may all be random, but I don't risk it. Important note: Do NOT feed your Poogle anything expensive! You do NOT get the food back that you feed the Poogle! I would recommend something that costs as little as 1NP, such as a fish (for example, feed a Lesser Spotted Fish). Unfortunately, Poogles will not eat omelettes or jellies, so be sure to bring something else to the betting page. Now, how much money are you going to place? Unfortunately, a lot of Poogle Racing is luck, so you don't always win. You may need to place a bet five times, if you forget to come to the page on time to see the race, you lose your bet, and if the Poogle loses, you lose your bet. If you are just in this for the avatar, I would recommend just betting a single neopoint. Yep, just 1NP. If you win, you will make a minimum of 3 neopoints! (Depending on who you placed your bet on).. Wowee! :O
The race isn't long, and in no time you will see those Poogles grinning from the stands. Remember, your Poogle needs to win first place to get the avatar! If your Poogle doesn't win, don't worry about it, just come back in a few minutes and try again! Good luck! But if your Poogle did win, click to go back to the betting page, where you will receive your avatar! Congratulations! Guide submitted by annabelle
